Police visiting PIV
Within the scope of a further training event "Security technology mechanics/electronics" of the North Rhine-Westphalian police force, the experts of the security technical consultation of the police were guests at the Testing Institute Locks and Hardware [Prüfinstitut Schlösser und Beschläge Velbert (PIV)].
After the presentation "4000 years of inventive talent in the service of security" by Dr. Ulrich Morgenroth, Director of the German Museum of Locks and Fittings, the police advisors informed themselves directly how exactly the testing and certification of the security technology recommended by the police for the prevention of burglaries is carried out. They got to know the different test ranges and the burglar-resistant products. The police officers also learned about the procedures, contents and results of the tests.
In the PIV the participants got a good impression of how the burglary resistant products are tested. Now they can explain and recommend them even better as part of their advice on burglary protection. In this way, the police actively supports citizens to upgrade their apartments and houses with burglar-resistant products available on the market.
